I had the pleasure to have an opportunity to work with artist Hans Beckers on his newest installation SONITUM VODA.

His concept was the starting point: an installation which would bring water to life in an audible way. The installation is a follow-up to his earlier creation SONITUM HORARIUM which is based on sound emanating from different sands flowing.

I did the engineering part; selection of materials and construction method and the basic R&D into how to best achieve the desired results. Hsn and I spent a number of weeks working on wooden prototypes in order to establisg methods of ondulatio and pulsation. Also we devised a way to mechanically make singing bowls sing.

Here a good impression of the research and devopment stage which was completed at the artists home in central Belgium.

From there the next level was the actual contruction and assembly which was done at ChampdAction Studio in deSingel, Antwerp.
