The BOX - Kortfilm
Dit jaar was de Vlaamse inzending voor het Ciak Junior Filmfestival 2016 de kortfilm The Box. Bedacht en gespeeld door leerlingen en personeel van GO! Freinet school De Pluym te Hoboken – Antwerpen werd de film gemaakt door Dirk Timmermans en Istvan Leel-Össy.
Dirk Timmermans tekende voor de spelregie en Istvan voor script, camera en editing.
De film was de Belgische inzending voor 2016 met jongeren, die tot stand kwam in samenwerking met VVN/onderwijs en professionele videomakers (Istvan Leel-Össy).De film kwam tot stand dank zij een subsidie van Cultuurkuur.
De kortfilm ‘The Box’ gaat over de dromen en angsten van kinderen in een snel veranderende wereld. De inzending werd bekroond met de Italiaanse publieksprijs. 3.500 scholieren uit heel Italië stemden op de film.
The Box werd gerealiseerd in een samenwerking met de leerlingen van GO! Freinet school De Pluym te Hoboken – Antwerpen.
Andere inzendingen die een belangrijke prijs haalden waren ‘The Steps’ uit China (Beste film) over inclusie en ‘It’s not me’ uit Israël (UNESCO prijs) over pesten. Hier vindt u meer informatie over het Ciak Junior Festival.
SYNOPSIS
Anna and Jessy are two close girlfriends. One day they got a strange request. Because there are some tensions in the group the teacher asks them two write a wish or a fear on a little paper and put it in a special box that will be send to a place somewhere high in the mountains where people are busy manufacturing children’s dreams.
That night they stay together and they talk about this odd assignment. Finally they fall asleep. But then strange things happen. Suddenly they wake up in the box. Or are they just dreaming? And whose dream is it actually? Jessy’s or Anna’s ? And what are their classmates doing in the box? Are they also dreaming or are they for real?
